In this episode of the MWI Podcast, we’re joined by four guests, each of whom is remarkably accomplished and has deep professional experience in the field of national security:

Brig. Gen. Jen Buckner, director of cyber, electronic warfare, and information operations, HQDA G-3/5/7
Brig. Gen. Michelle Schmidt, director of intelligence at US Special Operations Command
Lt. Col. (ret) Jen Easterly, managing director and head of the Cybersecurity Fusion Center at Morgan Stanley
Dr. Michele Malvesti, professor of practice in international security studies at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University

Each of these four has been remarkably successful in their careers, and perfectly positioned to talk about the topic of women in security. In the conversation, they discuss some of the challenges that can face women in the military and in security-related fields more broadly. But they also talk about the cultural changes they’ve witnessed throughout their careers, the role of mentorship and their experiences on both sides of mentorship relationships, and both the history and future of women pioneering new paths in national security.
