President Joe Biden recently made his first international trip. Over several days in Europe, he met with the leaders of the other G-7 countries and held a bilateral meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin. In between, he attended his first NATO summit as president. The events offer an opportunity to explore issues related to European security, and especially to assess the current state of NATO and examine the range of challenges the alliance faces.
To do so, Lauren Speranza joins this episode of the MWI Podcast. She is the director of transatlantic defense and security at the Center for European Policy Analysis and during the conversation, she offers insights into an array of developments that came out of the NATO summit and Biden’s trip to Europe.
