This is a special episode of the Urban Warfare Project Podcast. The Association of the United States Army hosts a podcasts called Army Matters, which often brings together a select group of thought leaders to discuss a topic of pressing interest to the Army. One recent conversation was focused on the subject of urban warfare. John Spencer, MWI’s chair of urban warfare studies and host of the Urban Warfare Project Podcast, was invited to take part, along with Dr. Russell Glenn and retired Col. Patrick Mahaney. AUSA was generous enough to allow us to publish the conversation here, as well.
The episode is hosted by AUSA’s director of national security studies, retired Col. Dan Roper. Each of his three guests is remarkably accomplished and has contributed significantly to the way the Army conceptualizes the challenges associated with urban warfare. It’s a fascinating conversation, and you can listen to the full episode below or find it on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, TuneIn, or your favorite podcast app. Be sure to subscribe, and if you’re enjoying the Urban Warfare Project Podcast, please take a minute and leave the podcast a review or give it a rating!
The episode is the first in a two-episode series hosted by AUSA. John Spencer returns for the second episode, and is joined by Dr. Daphné Richemond-Barak, an adjunct scholar at MWI, and AUSA’s Dr. Jeremiah Rozman. Be sure to follow AUSA and the Army Matters podcast to hear that conversation, as well.
