Nick Bono is an active duty US Army military intelligence officer with experience serving in tactical, operational, and strategic assignments and on the most senior joint military staffs. He is the cofounder of The Defense Policy Initiative, a consortium linking service members in academia to ongoing policy projects across the Department of Defense, and has been a guest lecturer on defense innovation at Georgetown University. His work has been featured in War on the Rocks, Small Wars Journal, and Association of the United States Army publications and podcasts. He earned a BA from Rockhurst University, an MPM from Georgetown University, and a JD from the University of Tulsa College of Law, including international study at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law – Japan Campus. He is currently serving as an Army Fellow assigned to Headquarters, Department of the Army, and supported Congressional Activities and the Algorithmic Warfare Cross-Functional Team (Project Maven) within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence.
