During the summer of 2017, a group of USMA cadets and faculty traveled to the Republic of Georgia to study that country’s 2008 war with Russia. Over nearly two weeks, the group interviewed military and political officials, spoke to participants in the conflict, and traveled to the boundary with the Georgian territory that remains occupied by Russian troops. Findings from the research trip—including lessons from the conflict on topics including cyber operations, hybrid warfare, and more—will be shared during this MWI event.
