Codirector, Irregular Warfare Initiative

Kyle Atwell is an active duty US Army officer, an instructor in the Social Sciences Department at West Point, and a PhD candidate in security studies at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. His operational experience includes assignments in North and West Africa, Afghanistan, South Korea, and Germany. He has also held positions at NATO Headquarters in Brussels and the United States Mission to the United Nations, and worked for two California state legislators. He is a former Center for a New American Security Shawn Brimley Next Generation National Security Leaders fellow as well as a fellow at the Princeton Center for International Security Studies. Kyle received BA degrees in economics and international relations from the University of California at Davis in 2006.
