MWI War Council – Debating the Space Force

September 6, 2018 @ 12:35 pm - 1:50 pm

“The space environment has fundamentally changed in the last generation; what was once peaceful and uncontested is now crowded and adversarial.”
– Vice President Mike Pence

The Modern War Institute will host a diverse panel of staff and faculty in a riveting discussion around the future of the proposed space force. The panel will debate the pros and cons of the proposed new force based on the panelist’s expertise in the sciences, and experience working in the space arena. The discussion will focus on what the future could look like, the obstacles that will need to be overcome, and how the world will respond.

The panel will feature Lt. Col. Mindy Kimball from the Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering, Lt. Col. Diana Loucks from the Department of Physics and Nuclear Engineering, Col. Kristin Panzenhagen from the Air Force Missile Defense and Missile Warning Systems Branch, and Lt. Col. Jason Galui from the Department of Social Sciences.
