Thanks to all that sent in work for the Summer Essay Campaign, particularly the nineteen that made it into the competition.  Now comes the voting, which will be open until August 10th.

Note: the competition essays can be found here (or by clicking on “Summer Essay Campaign” in the concept index on the right of the blog screen).

Simple voting process:

  1. Objective Criteria: Email me at warcouncileditor (at) gmail (dot) com with the subject “Summer Essay Campaign” and your vote for the (single) best essay.  You interpret what “best” means (i.e. in general or for the question presented or most interesting). You cannot vote for yourself.
  2. Subjective Criteria: I will read all comments posted on the Summer Essay Campaign essays between now and August 10th – please feel free to critique/support/defend – these will inform my decision.

I will announce the top three and repost them August 11-13.  As promised, the winners will be added to my Military Strategy course syllabus and receive a signed copy of one of Tom Ricks’ books.
